Bonded to you in emotional bliss, united in physical rapture, I realize my dreams as fantasies. Engulfed in contentment and satisfaction. I know heaven in your arms. My intense hunger is nourished, deep yearning fulfilled, I am open to you in total trust. You are my refuge, my everything.
Do you know that old kid of love? The kind that you see when you open your grandparent’s photo albums from their younger days. That was the inspiration for Clarke and Avery’s modern and romantic engagement session in Downtown Phoenix!
I met Clarke a few months ago when we were both volunteering as a clothing swap for Trans and Nonbinary folks in the therapy office where she works! When she reached out to me after getting engaged to her fiancé Avery I was beyond excited to work with her again! She and Avery met over tinder and told me about their first date at a dive bar neither of them had been to. They ended up hitting it off and the rest is history! Avery proposed to Clarke after gifting her tickets to see one of her favorite bands, Paramore! They love to try new restaurants together (they highly recommend Bacanora), watch tv and movies, and visit museums.
Clarke and Avery wanted an urban and vintage kind of feel and I knew that Downtown Phoenix would be the perfect spot for them! The areas around the Orpheum Theatre and the Maricopa County Old Courthouse really have that vintage and historical feel. I loved letting them have some space and enjoy just being together throughout the shoot and being there to just observe the way they interacted and looked at each other with such tenderness and trust. These two were so much fun to work with and I’m so proud to share photos from their session below!
