As a wedding photographer, I love it when couples incorporate their passions and personalities into their wedding day! Kelly and Keely’s wedding reflected everything they’re about. In the gorgeous coastal city of Virginia Beach, their wedding at Cavalier Resort was equal parts nerdy and bookish and sweet and romantic. Every detail, down to their invitations, dogs turned flower girls, and bustling dance floor, was 100% them.
Kelly & Keely met online in March 2022 and quickly bonded during brunch on their first date. They said that their dogs, Charlie and Heidi, were the ones who fell in love first. Their pups became instant best friends, and Kelly and Keely saw it as a great sign. The pair are huge readers and love their fair share of books together. This was a strong element of their wedding, with copies of their favorite books as wedding favors on each table.
Keely and Kelly wanted their wedding to feel inclusive and warm, and full of personal touches. Starting the day out, they got ready together along with some of their closest friends and family. They helped one another get dressed and really prioritized spending time together on their wedding day. Another personal touch was their sweet dogs as their flower girls. One of their dogs, Charlie, even got nice and cozy and cuddled in Kelly’s dress during their ceremony.
For their wedding photography, K&K were looking for a photographer who centered inclusivity and had a dreamy, romantic style. When we chatted for the first time, it was clear that all of us clicked! They felt natural and comfortable during their wedding, and everything that was captured felt beautiful and authentic to them. Their dreamy virginia beach wedding was one to remember!
